The UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) held in Paris at the end of 2015 marked a significant moment in multilateral climate diplomacy. Its outcome, the Paris Agreement, is the first universal legally-binding global climate accord. The deal has been welcomed by many, and it was a major coup for French diplomacy. Nevertheless, successful implementation of the agreement can only be judged in time. Dr Thomas Deleuil, Legal Advisor at the French Foreign Ministry, will take us inside the process of negotiating a climate deal and reflect on the road to the Paris Agreement.
